Yoyo Games put out a tweet yesterday that Mac-using game devs should take note of. Its popular game development program, GameMaker Studio 2, is now entering closed beta for Mac.

The beta started up yesterday, March 22 -- but it is a closed beta, so you will have to jump through a few hoops to get your hands on the software. In order to qualify for the closed beta you must be a Mac user over the age of 18 and follow the directions below.

  • Send an email to helpdesk@yoyogames.com with the subject line 'Mac IDE Closed Beta'
  • In the email body, include the following information:
    • Full name
    • Country
    • Mac specifications (including OS version)
